Welcome to our parish
This website tries to capture the feeling that you can only get from living in a small community in the south west of England.
Bell House (old School)
If you live in the parish, then the news is a good place to start.
If you once lived in the parish, but have now left, go to the gallery first to help you remember to slow down and enjoy life.
If you are thinking of living in the parish, click on the "About Us" tab, or perhaps one of the "quick links".
If you are looking up historical information, then perhaps the "Chard Canal" link will help as a starting point.
If you just stumbled in here and just want to look around a bit, then let me suggest that you get into the spirit of village life by following some simple rules, firstly, don't rush, and once you are relaxed, then click on a link and read the text, then imagine what happened a day, a week, a year, a decade, or even a century before, now move onto something else and imagine again.
RUISHTON SCHOOL LAUNCH NEW WEBSITE
Welcome to Ruishton Church of England Primary School.
We are proud of our school and of the governors, staff, parents and children who work together to make our school a happy, secure and purposeful environment for us all.
At our school we aim to provide the best education we can for each child. This education will develop their academic, artistic and creative, physical and personal skills. All the adults involved in the school work together to create an ethos which will give the children the best opportunities.

The Little Village of Ruishton
Ruishton's lovely flowers,And it’s long playing hours,
Children playing in the park,
Ruishton's church, its greatest mark.
Lovely people lovely homes,
Never moans and never groans,
Pretty plants and lots of trees,
Insects, Bugs and Buzzy Bees,
River snaking through its banks,
Cows in their fields with water tanks,
The cosy pub and village school,
Nursery and village hall,
It’s close to the hills, It’s close to the sea,
It’s basically the best place to be!
